I make jewelry from nordic precious and semi precious natural stones. Stones that have been collected by myself or by my family. My mother and father took us camping every summer when we grew up. They had as we said “gold fever” and we would always collect beautiful stones on every trip. Later on my father made me a jewelry of my favorite stone Jade. My daughter was named Jade.

My grandfather Sigurd taught us kids the importance of taking care of the forest. He went over to America in his younger years to dig for gold and worked as an lodger, with the money he earned from it, he bought some land with trees back in Finland and cared for the forest. It was a place where he felt serenity, as he had also been a Finnish army cavalry scout in the winter war against Russia.
He had built a little cabin in the woods and an owl lived in the attic. I loved this place as a kid, so many lovely memories. We planted trees, learned about birds, berries and walked around in silence just observing.
I love exploring in the forest and that always make me feel close to my grandfather. I think that is why I love taking pictures of animals, trees and whatever treasures I find there, it brings me serenity and a deeper connection.
